Clare Crean
- Head of International Sales

Head of Sales for The Works International, Clare Crean has over 20 years' experience in film sales. She joined The Works in 1998 and has handled sales on a diverse and impressive array of films including Bend It Like Beckham, 24 Hour Party People, I Am Love, Whale Rider & the Academy Award winning documentaries Man On Wire and The Cove. Prior to The Works Clare was a sales executive for the seminal sales outfit J&M Entertainment. Clare is a regular contributor to industry training programmes and she currently sits on the board of Film Export UK, the association which represents the interests of UK based sales companies.

Edrianne Wenger
- Sales and Marketing Executive

Edrianne has 9 years of experience working in international film sales and marketing. Edrianne obtained her MBA from Imperial College London in 2011 with a concentration in entrepreneurship and strategy.

Mick Southworth
- Director

Mick started his career as a cinema booker for ABC and Cannon before moving into distribution. Working at the then leading UK arthouse distributor Recorded Releasing, Mick released cult titles such as ‘Withnail and I’ before moving to Virgin Vision as Head of Theatrical Sales and eventually becoming Head of Distribution. In 1991 Mick acquired the Virgin theatrical catalogue and started Feature Film Company, which released movies such as ‘Hoop Dreams’, ‘Slacker’, ‘Gang Related’ and acquired rights to such classics as ‘Quadrophenia’ and ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’. In 1995 Mick was approached by Channel 4 to set up Film Four Distributors, the UK theatrical and video distributor of Film Four and Channel 4. Mick’s tenure as Managing Director was a successful time for the company releasing films such as ‘The Madness of King George’, ‘Secrets and Lies’, Brassed Off’ and ‘Fever Pitch’, and establishing a successful video rental operation. In 2001 Winchester Entertainment recruited Mick to establish a UK distribution division. Under the successive ownerships of Winchester, Cobalt and Content, Mick delivered a succession of successful releases such as ‘Lantana’, ‘The Man Who Sued God’, and ‘Open Range’. In 2005, Mick became the Managing Director of The Works UK Distribution Ltd and is currently a Director on the board of The Works Film Group

Martin McCabe
- Director

One of the UK’s most experienced executives in the field of independent film and video distribution, production & acquisitions, has been involved in the release of over 800 feature films for cinema, video, DVD or television during his 25 plus years in the business. He started his career at Palace Pictures, where he worked as marketing manager in distribution and acquisitions . Seven years later he went on to become a founding Director of Metro Tartan, where as Head of both Theatrical and Video Acquisitions and Marketing, he was largely responsible for turning the business into the leading indie film distribution business in the UK. He subsequently became Head of Theatrical Distribution and Acquisitions at Electric Pictures/Alliance Atlantis UK, and then launched Downtown Pictures where he successfully released over 25 features, including 2 Oscar winners: Gods & Monsters and Steven Spielberg's The Last Days plus other major titles including Kurt and Courtney and Spike Lee’s Summer of Sam. Subsequently established a new media venture with business partner Mick Southworth to focus on television, theatrical feature and new media production and specialised industry consultation. Clients have included Sky TV, Ogilvy’s, BP, Walt Disney Pictures UK, European Space Agency, Music Sales International and UKTV/Virgin TV. He has recently completed production on the UK’s first Hi-Def long-form music series for UKTV (13 x 1hr) featuring major artists such as Snow Patrol, Muse,Coldplay and Robert Plant. He has Executive Produced a number of pictures including “Fantastic Fear of Everything” starring Simon Pegg, for Universal Pictures UK and the concert feature “JLS in 3D for Sony Music / Syco, "Born of War" for Arclight and Grindstone Pictures, and "St George's Day" for Metrodome UK/Arclight Films. Currently Executive Producing theatrical documentaries "Mandela's Children" and "The Cuban Way" for 2017 release. He is also Executive Producer on Mike Dibb's "Painting With Hair" for BBC 4 and "First Reformed" for Killer Films & Arclight Pictures, to be directed by Paul Schrader. Martin is a director of The Works Film Group, a member of the PGA & also the distribution columnist for international film trade magazine MOVIESCOPE and a programmer for the NYC and Rhode Island Film Festivals.

Deepak Sikka
- Director

Deepak Sikka is an experienced entertainment financier. He was previously Financial Controller and then Finance Director for TV & Production at HIT Entertainment PLC where he worked on a number of acquisitions before the business was acquired by APAX Partners. He then became CFO and General Manager at Molinare where he structured an innovative mechanism for investing post-production finance into film and television projects in return for equity - this mechanism financed over 30 films and notable successes include Moon and The King’s Speech of which Deepak is a Co-Executive Producer.

Brooke Lyndon-Stanford
- Director

Brooke Lyndon-Stanford founded Atomic Arts in 1996, a visual effects & animation company which offers services to established and aspiring filmmakers. It has acted as an incubator, in particular to Picture Farm, a collective including Rupert Wyatt and Damian Lewis. Atomic Arts supervised and completed in-house all the effects on Rupert's film The Escapist which then lead to work on Rise of the Planet of the Apes for 20th Century Fox. Further developing the relationship with Fox, Atomic Arts worked on Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. They are now slated to work on a number of studio movies, having worked on Ridley Scott’s The Martian, Paramount's production of The Gambler & Into The Woods for Disney as well as high end TV dramas such as The Get Down for Sony & The Collection for Amazon. Brooke visual effect supervises for Atomic Arts on all these productions. He has recently been re-elected to the global board of directors of the Visual Effects Society & is Chair of the UK Section.

Michael Brawley
- Head of Finance

Head of Finance, Michael Brawley, has over 20 years experience in the UK Film industry in companies specialising in UK Distribution, International Film Sales, PR and Marketing, Film Finance and Studio operations.

Alex Temple
- UK Acquisitions and Development Executive

Alex started his career gaining production experience across TV productions, commercials and shorts films. He cut his teeth in the film industry in internships at Rise Films, Ingenious Media and Heyday Films before subsequently joining Omeira as Development Assistant in 2013. Alex read Philosophy, Politics & Economics at Oxford University.

Sarah Smith
- Accounts Executive

Sarah joined The Works Film Group as Accounts Executive in December 2010 having spent eight years at the National Film Trustee Company (NFTC), a Royalty administration and Collection Agency, working on International Collections and Participation reporting. Sarah’s remit at The Works Film Group covers both international and UK collections and royalty reporting.

Margaret Wang
- Financial Accountant

Margaret passed a Master of Science in Finance from City University Business School in 2002 and has been certified Business in Accounting in CIMA since 2007. A professional accountant, Margaret has over 13 years of working experience with excellent knowledge of finance & accounting procedures.

Andy Ordonez
- Business Affairs

Andy has been involved in the film industry for over thirty years, covering motion picture production, production finance, international film sales and UK and international distribution. His wide ranging knowledge of all aspects of the industry informs every aspect of our business. He started his media career with VCL in the seventies and rose to director of production in 1979. The group was then sold to Virgin and became the heart of Virgin Vision. Andy went on to work for CBS/Fox and then Sky, when it was establishing the Movie Channel. Following this he joined Nippon Film Development and Finance (NFDF), which acted as executive producers on a slate of films including – Basquiat, Wilde, and Titus, and then moved to the Arts Council of England where he acted as senior business affairs executive on many productions supported by lottery funding. In 2002, Andy joined Civilian Content, which became The Works Film Group in 2011. As business affairs manager, he is responsible for the company’s corporate, production, international sales representation and UK Distribution.

Brian Shingles
- Head of Technical Services

Brian Shingles is veteran of the film industry, joining The Works in September 2001 as Head of Technical Services. Brian previously worked at Paramount, CIC, MCA-TV, HandMade Films and Artificial Eye prior to joining the company.

Ailsa Scott
- Head of Marketing

Ailsa Scott is Head of Marketing at The Works Film Group, working across International and UK titles, and has been with the company since 2005. Prior to this, Ailsa was Distribution Assistant at ContentFilm Plc.

Steve Bestwick
- Head of UK Sales and Acquisitions

Steve Bestwick spent 5 years at Icon working with the international sales team handling a library of over 300 titles including Mel Gibson’s PASSION OF THE CHRIST and APOCALYPTO, Ralph Fiennes’ CORIOLANUS and Steve McQueen’s HUNGER. Moving to The Works in 2011, Steve has expanded his skillset working across the UK and International departments to acquire feature films for UK Distribution, liaise with theatrical exhibitors on UK releases and work on worldwide sales for The Works’ library of titles.
